J F Heritage has submitted a heritage statement and detailed conservation advice for works near to a listed building. Quested Cottage is a Grade II listed building, it exhibits an interesting combination of architectural elements. Its timber- framed structure is adorned with painted ragstone and tile hanging, topped by a plain tiled roof. The fenestration on the ground floor consists of two timber casements, with a half-glazed door with painted glass, positioned at the centre within a gabled porch. At the rear, there is a catslide outshot featuring a dormer and a stack, with an additional half-glazed door and a brick dated 1778.

Upon entering the interior, the eye is immediately drawn to the full frame on display, and the tie-beam roof. The cottage boasts large inglenooks, adding to its character and Overall, Quested Cottage stands out with a high degree of architectural interest, owing to its skilful use of traditional materials and the preservation of notable architectural features that have stood the test of time.
The property dates from the C16 and was altered in 1778, the property is known to have been occupied by Cephas Quested a smuggler and leader of the Aldington Gang in the late 18th century. The Hand Pump located to the west of Quested Cottage dates from the mid 19th century and has a medium level of historic interest. Quested Cottage has a high level of historic interest due to the age of the property and its historical association with Cephas Quested. A comprehensive search was conducted on the Kent Historic Environment Record, revealing no documented archaeological findings within the immediate vicinity or the broader area.
