Ripon Workhouse Museum is one of the biggest and most important in Yorkshire with vagrant cells, dining halls and restored kitchen garden.
Built in 1854, it housed inmates until 1976 before becoming council offices. With funding from the HLF the building has been restored and now houses the Workhouse Museum.
